Admission Requirement for UG programs
Students must check the admission requirements to study in Germany carefully as most of the institutions have set very high requirements. For UG courses as much as 80-90% is required. Also, students must have 13 years education to apply for a UG degree in Germany. Thus students need to either complete 1 year of Bachelors's study in India or appear for IITJEE or Fa exam and score required points to be eligible to apply for a UG course in Germany. If any student doesn't meet any such additional requirement, the student has to study the pre-requisite year in Germany called as Studienkolleg. It is a one-year preparatory program that helps international students in Germany bridge any gaps in education to prepare them for university. Applicants must have minimum B2-level German proficiency to qualify for a Studienkolleg.

Admission requirement for PG programs
Students are expected to have at least 65-75% from a reputed Indian University. Some universities also demand GRE of minimum 300 or it is usefull to enhance your case even if there is no such requirement in your University.

IELTS requirement
There is IELTS or TOEFL requirement for study in Germany. An IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 100 is a minimum requirement for candidates looking to study in Germany.

Admission Intake
There are generally two admission intakes in Germany, Summer Semester and Winter Semesters. Summer is March/April intake while Winter is October/November intake. However some universities offer rolling admission intake, accepting applications throughout the year. It is important to mention here that admission process to public universities is complex and students have to work very hard throughout the process and eventually it worth to all the hard work.

Part-time work with study
During studies International students are allowed to work 20 hours/week (120 full working days or 240 half working days in a year).

Tuition Fees
Most of the state-owned universities (public universities) in Germany are free and do not charge tuition fees to students. However both international and locals are required to pay an administration fee amounting to (300-500euros) as part of the admission process. Private institutions charge a tuition fee which is estimated around 12,000 to 15,000 euros per year.

Scholarships
There are several scholarships available in Germany. There are merit-based scholarships provided by universities for students with exceptional academic track record. Post study work visa
Students who have completed their education in Germany are eligible for an 18-month Job Seeking Visa/post-study work visa to find work related to their studies. In these 18 months, the candidates can work as much as they like and take up any kind of employment to support themselves.

Visa Process
One of the important documents to apply for study visa for Germany is to deposit the mandatory amount €11,904 in the Blocked Account for studying in Germany. This amount is an evidence for payment for your 1st year living expenses in Germany. Permanent Residency(PR) in Germany
If the candidate is looking to permanently settle down in Germany (PR in Germany), he/she can apply for an ‘EU Blue Card’ - Residence Permit as early as two years after receiving the work permit. The EU Blue Card is a permanent residence permit for European countries. With the EU Blue Card, one can work and live in any of the EU states.
